'Beer Pong Rapist' Believed to have Assaulted at least 30 Men
A Maryland man, known as the “beer pong rapist,” has already been convicted in five sexual assaults, was expected to be sentenced Friday but the judge granted a continuance until April 15th.
Now prosecutors say there may be dozens more victims. Prosecutors have said in court documents that Poindexter is believed to have assaulted at least 30 men.
He was convicted of assaulting five men. Prosecutors are asking for a 200-year sentence. Poindexter's attorney requested a continuance on Friday, saying she needed time to study the case.
Authorities say Poindexter met several of his victims at beer pong tournaments.
CBS Boston reported, court documents, said “Poindexter then bought a round of ‘Long Island Iced Tea' and [victim] consumed it. [Victim] has no memory of the rest of the evening after consuming the Long Island Iced Tea.” The next morning, the victim woke up at Poindexter's home and says: “[Victim] observed his clothing on the floor and he was now wearing a pair of Poindexter's black Nike ‘Jordan' basketball style shorts.”
The victim later wore a wire. Poindexter's response: “If it makes you feel any better, I don't have any [expletive] AIDS, if anything did happen.”
Montgomery Police said they believed Poindexter had been targeting young men for about 10 years.
