U.S. Smoking Statistics
* 50 years ago 40% of the population smoked cigarettes - Today that number has plunged below 20%.
* Only 6% of college graduates (bachelors degree and higher) smoke, compared to 23% of those with high school education.
* Only 11% of Asians smoke, compared to 26% of smokers of mixed race.
* Of black smokers, 80% smoke menthol.
* Smokers by gender: 20% men 15% women
