For those wondering why we have an "illegal" immigration problem, the following factoid could shed some light: The government only has about 100 beds to house "illegal" families with children that are apprehended in the country (none in the Rio Grande Valley where the vast majority of "illegal" immigrants cross into the U.S.). Just in this fiscal year, an estimated 39,000 people traveling in family groups have been detained, with almost all being released because there is no place to hold the families. Some are monitored by ankle bracelets, and although they would "illegally" cross into a foreign country, certainly they wouldn't conceive the idea to "illegally" remove the monitoring devices... Murica!
